These are watercolor sketches (in indigo) of architectural features of Indianapolis neighborhoods which forms a spiral image. Within the spiral is a continuous line drawing of people of all ages and stages of life, representing the lives that are lived out and the growth that occurs with the city as a backdrop. In various cultures, the spiral symbolizes different things. This work focuses on the theme of long life, and the cross generational growth, as well as the idea that the buildings in which we live and work have lives of their own. This piece was part of a show called "Continuous" which was sponsored by the Borschoff Group at the Harrison Center for the Arts in November of 2011 where it won the "Peoples Choice Award". It is part of a private collection.
